Who are you?
I am a man, and of consequence a member of society. I am a being not only personal, but rational; and therefore I must be of some consequence to myself, and must be a little more so to others. I must be a few steps further removed from absolute nothing than a mere naked individual, and must be a few degrees further still, if possible, than a mere many.
