Welsh-born miner
I am a miner, and work in a coal-pit, for the purpose of earning my livelihood. I was born in Wales, and lived for some time in Cornwall, as a miner; and I have worked in different parts of England, as a weaver, in order to acquire the knowledge of a trade, that I might become a more perfect miner. In all, I have been a practical miner for upwards of twenty years, and I can do as I wish, in all matters relating to the working of a mine, so far as regards the actual performance of a miner’s duty.
The speaker describes a long career as a miner, born in Wales and having worked in Cornwall and elsewhere in England.
