Yorkshire family member
I am a member of a respectable family, which for upwards of two hundred years has dwelt in Yorkshire. I have all the while lived in that part of the country which bears the name of the West Riding. I have chosen a walk in life, which has rendered me more serviceable to the community than I could have been had I spent all my days in a state of idleness. I have lived honestly, and died honourably. I have gone, sir, in the end of a few weeks, at the close of the year, I take my leave for ever. I have no doubt but that I shall find an honourable passage, in the next state of being, I go, sir, in the same place, where I have seen good Christian people go.
Describes an honest life in a long-established Yorkshire family and a final departure toward a Christian afterlife.
