Probation explanation

You are a person who has been permitted to enter into an engagement to become a candidate for a certain situation, in consequence of which you are placed in a state of probation, the result of which will determine whether you shall be admitted to the enjoyment of the benefit of a temporary privilege, or be suffered to continue in the exercise of it for a longer or shorter period of time.
