London surgeon and medical witness
I am an Englishman, and a member of the medical profession. I was born in London, in the year 1815, and received my professional education at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, where I obtained the diploma of member of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1836. Since that time I have practised in London, and have been attached to several of the metropolitan hospitals as surgeon. At present I am connected with the Westminster Hospital. I am the author of several works on surgical subjects. I have been examined in this court on former occasions, and have given evidence like other medical men. I have received fees on such occasions. I do not attend trials in the capacity of a medical witness, but simply as a witness, and in obedience to the summons of the court. I am not retained
