John Thomson, Scottish traveller

I am in London, a stranger in London, a foreigner in London. I am in London because I have business there, and I intend to remain until that business is transacted. My name is abroad is John Thomson in England, and in London, John Thomson. I am a native of Scotland, but I have resided many years in France, and speak the French language fluently. My present address is at the Hotel de l'Europe, in the Rue Richelieu. I purpose spending the winter in Paris, and afterwards proceeding in Germany. My correspondents abroad are Messrs.
