London carpenter
I am a trade-craftsman, and a member of a trade-craft society. I earn my living by the trade of a carpenter, and I belong to the trade-craft society of Carpenters. I am a single man, and thirty years of age. I was born in London, and have been all my life a resident of the same city. I have never been out of England, and never was at school. I can read and write, and have a slight knowledge of the elements of arithmetic. I have no trade-craft, nor have I any particular inclination to any. I have, however, a great desire to see foreign countries, and, if possible, to trade abroad. I have no objection to go to sea, and should not be sorry to be a little
The speaker describes being a London carpenter with trade-society membership and aspirations to travel, despite inconsistencies.
