London-born man of many trades

I am a man. I was born in London, and am now five-and-twenty years of age. My father was a merchant, and intended me for the same line of business; but I did not relish the employment, and therefore turned my thoughts towards the law. After having pursued that study for some time, I was disgusted with it likewise, and turned565 physician. I did not continue long in this profession, either, but betook myself to the army, and lastly to the sea. In short, I have followed four different professions, and have relished them all. At present I am settled in none, but live upon my own fortune.
