I am a ghost, but not an ordinary one. I am a spirit of no common grade. I belong to an order of beings, which ranks above the heads of ordinary men, and below the gods! I come from a world, where men are something, and gods, something more. I am a citizen of two great cities, of which the one, opiates between earth and heaven, and the other, between earth and opium! Among mortals, I am a kind of superhuman creature, possessing a sort of preternatural body, and an unknown soul-and among gods, I am something more than a man, and less than a deity. I am a being, whom men conceive to be marvellous, and whom gods think, to be wonderful. Great shades, treat me with respect
