I am a little boy, nine years old. I go to school every day, and learn to read and write. I can spell words of four letters, and I can reckon as far as twelve. I can tell the number of days in each month of the year, and I know how long it is since Christmas. I can name all the parts of speech, and I can distinguish between an active and a passive verb. I can tell a noun from a pronoun, and I can read easy stories out of a book.
