Emetic, servant of the public + Horse
An emu of the class of vomiting creatures
I am an emu, and I am one of the lowest members of the class of warm-blooded animals which are called emetics, or vomiting creatures, because when an emu is sick it vomits. I am an emu, because that is the name by which I am known to men; but I am really a kangar, and my scientific designation is Mesetesa, or Mesetessia, which means a long-legged one. I am an animal of the class of quadrupeds, and my species is called the long-legged, or double-backed emu, and I am an inhabitant of the great southern continent of Australia, where I range over the plains in herds of from five hundred to a thousand individuals. The emu does not confine itself to the low ground
The emu starts as a concrete, if inaccurate, animal portrait; at 0.5625× it is an emetic animal that says it is really a kangaroo-like “kangar.” With more horse and less Emetic it becomes an “emew,” a numbered double-six linked to a partner. The last stage is specific but increasingly repetitive.
